Ace Hardware of Ankeny will give away free American flags on Saturday, May 28 to honor the Memorial Day holiday.

Iowa lost 392 soldiers in the Korean war and 533 in the Vietnam conflict.

Consumers visiting the store at 3020 SW Oralabor Road, Ankeny will receive a free 8’ by 12’ American flag. A second will be donated to the local VFW Boline-Manfredi Post to be used for marking veterans’ graves on Memorial Day.

This year, Ace Hardware Corporation aims to again give away more than one million American flags nationally. Last year, it gave away more than 500,000 to Ace customers and more than 550,000 to more than 1,900 VFW Posts.

Flags will be available at Ace Hardware of Ankeny while quantities last. Each consumer is limited to one free flag; no purchase is necessary.

Ace Hardware of Ankeny is located at 3020 SW Oralabor Road, Ankeny, Iowa. This location is owned by Christopher Sterk, represented by Jason LaMott and managed by Chad Cunningham.
