City of Ankeny recently issued the following announcement.

On Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 8:33 p.m.,  Ankeny Police officers were dispatched to 1103 SW 28th St. #205 in reference to subject who had been shot.  When officers arrived, they located an adult male who had been shot while inside of this apartment.  This subject was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. 

Detectives & Crime Scene personnel are in the preliminary stages of their investigation and are currently conducting interviews to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.

This is an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the public.
