On Sunday, March 26, 2023, members of the Johnston-Grimes Metropolitan Fire Department took part in the annual Fight For Air Climb. This year, the JGMFD brought home the traveling axe for having the fastest time among all metro fire departments. The four fastest firefighters on each team were averaged together to determine who would take home the axe. 

Congratulations to Captain Tristan Johnson, Fire Marshal Craig Verl Huel, Firefighters Orlando Peace, Alex Aubert, Curtis Cole, Adam Hoffman, Nick Pearson, Jaden Reiss and Communications Manager Janet Wilwerding for finishing the 91 floors in full firefighter gear.
