The RipRoar Youth Triathlon will take place at Terra Park on Saturday, August 20, beginning at 8:00 a.m. To ensure the safety of the athletes, limited access and road closures will occur beginning at 7:30 a.m. through noon.

Participants will swim in open water at Terra Lake, bike along Pioneer Parkway and finish with a run on the Terra Park trails. The distance each participant will swim, bike and run vary depending upon their age.

Pioneer Parkway from NW 62nd Avenue on the west to Greendale Road on the east will be closed beginning at 7:30 a.m. Close to 1,000 people are expected in the area during the event. City of Johnston Public Works, Fire and Police Departments will be on hand to assist with road closures, crowd control and medical emergencies. Residents affected by the road closure will maintain emergency access to their homes.

While the swimming portion of the triathlon will take place in Terra Lake, swimming is not allowed in Terra Lake before or after the race.

The triathlon is facilitated by a private company. Residents within this area will receive a notice from RipRoar warning them of the road closures.
