SET UP YOUR EMERGENCY HEALTH PROFILE TO ASSIST EMERGENCY RESPONDERS

The following information is being shared on behalf of Polk County Emergency Management. The Polk County Joint 911 Service Board replaces SMART911 with RapidSOS emergency health profiles. These profiles allow a caller’s real-time personal health and location information to be linked from their connected devices, apps, and profiles with 911. The information provided provides context beyond what the caller in the crisis is able to convey to dispatchers.

Similar to other emergency health profiles, individuals can enter pertinent information such as:

  • Name, Date of Birth, Address
  • Pre-Existing Conditions
  • Allergies
  •  Medical Notes
  • COVID-19 Symptoms
  • Emergency Contacts

Profiles may be created using a supported Apple or Android health app or going to www.emergencyprofile.org to create a free RapidSOS Emergency Health Profile.

The three Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) serving the Polk County 911 Service Area, which includes all of Polk County, Norwalk, and Waukee will be utilizing the RapidSOS Emergency Health Profiles.

The RapidSOS Emergency Health Profile is supported in 69% of the PSAPs in Iowa, and over 4,700 PSAPs throughout the United States using the RapidSOS Emergency Response Data Platform. The Emergency Health Profile also presents a significant cost saving to the PSAPs as the technology is entirely free.

Please join us in becoming RapidSOS Ready by going to www.emergencyprofile.org to create your free Emergency Health Profile today.
