Des Moines home prices rise in May 2020

The median sale price of a home sold in May 2020 in Des Moines rose by $12,550 while total sales decreased by 20.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2020, there were 365 homes sold, with a median sale price of $152,500 - a 9% increase over the $139,950 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 458 homes sold in Des Moines in May 2019.

The median sales tax in Des Moines for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,488, approximately 1.6% of the median home sale price for May 2020.
