Last week, some bars, restaurants and other businesses were reopened by Gov. Kim Reynolds, according to We Are Iowa.
Those similar establishments in Johnson and Story counties remain closed.
But the party is back on in Black Hawk, Dallas, Linn and Polk counties but with some restrictions.
The governor’s order also came with alcohol restrictions as restaurants will be forced to stop sales at 10 p.m.
Johnson and Story County will continue to live with the closures and restrictions through Sept. 20, according to the governor's latest proclamation.
Dr. Rossana Rosa, an infectious disease expert, said COVID-19 still is spreading and the citizens of the state should remain vigilant by wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
"We are down to another plateau and then the June plateau, and it seems like every time we end up in a worse place than we were before and it's worrisome," Rosa told We Are Iowa.
