City of Bondurant recently issued the following announcement on September 15.
This youth basketball program is run through the Parks & Recreation Department and includes players 3rd through 6th grade for boys and girls. The focus of each division is to develop fundamentals, encourage sportsmanship, promote teamwork, and have FUN!
Registration for one child is $90, then $80 for the second child, and $65 for any consecutive child after.
The entry fee covers gym rental time for practices and games, a uniform for each player, equipment for each team, and referees for the season. Interested in coaching? There will be a box on the registration form to indicate your interest.
The entire program is organized by the Blue Jay Basketball Club.
Kids are assigned to teams based on age, position, and playing ability as equally as possible. Team practices are held during the week, and games are played on Saturdays in Bondurant. The first part of the season is a league with games starting the first part of November and ending in mid-December. Players will have a chance to register for a Tournament Season that will be held after the holidays. Registration for the second half of Blue Jay Basketball Club is TBD, and more information will be provided by mid-November.
- September 27th: Parent meeting at 7:00 in Middle School Gym
- October 6th: 3rd-grade skills clinic at 3:30 after school in Anderson New Gym
- Practices will start the week of October 25th
- Games for league season will be: November 13th, November 20th, December 4th, December 11th, and December 18th
