September 2021: Des Moines experienced a 9.7% increase in median home prices

The median sale price of a home sold in September 2021 in Des Moines rose by $15,000 while total sales increased by 1.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In September 2021, there were 451 homes sold, with a median sale price of $170,000 - a 9.7% increase over the $155,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 444 homes sold in Des Moines in September 2020.

The median sales tax in Des Moines for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,488, approximately 1.5% of the median home sale price for September 2021.
