Volleyball Falls at Indiana State

5

Drake University Athletics recently issued the following announcement.

Drake volleyball closed out a two-match road swing at Indiana State Saturday. The match followed a hard-fought loss at Evansville two sets to three the previous day.

Drake struggled to gain momentum in the first set, falling 25-17. A back and forth second set saw a late Bulldog rally come up just short 25-23. A slow start to the third set was too much to overcome as the Bulldogs lost the third, 25-15.

The Drake attack was led by senior Lindsey Pliapol who finished with nine kills. Mariana Rodrigues added six kills in the loss.

Drake was paced by Maddie Holt who recorded 17 assists.

The Bulldogs return to the Knapp Center to close out the regular season when they host the Loyola Ramblers Friday Nov. 19 and the Valparaiso Beacons Saturday Nov. 20. Both matches will begin at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+/ESPN3. Tickets are available at draketix.com.
