Grand View University recently issued the following announcement.
The Grand View football team was back in action for their last regular season game as they visited the Pride of Clarke University.
Game Recap
The Vikings were first to the scoreboard with a 29-yard field goal from Nathan Hamilton (JR/Bettendorf, IA) in the first quarter to make it a 3-0 game. Later in the first, a 3-yard touchdown rush from Ali Scott (SO/Powder Spring, GA) capped off a three-play Viking drive to make it 10-0. The Vikings scored two touchdowns in the second quarter one from Scott on a 14-yard rush and one from a 7-yard touchdown pass from Drew Adams (JR/Mount Vernon, IA) to Scott. Grand View went into halftime up 24-0. The Pride was able to punch in a touchdown late in the third quarter to make it 24-7. Casey Hill (JR/Oskaloosa, IA) added a score for the Vikings halfway through the fourth on a 7-yard touchdown to make the final 31-7.
Stats
Grand View ran the ball for 333-yards on sixty carries for the game. Scott finished with 157-yards and two rushing touchdowns. Hill finished for 62-yards and a touchdown. Drew Adams finished the game passing for 45-yards on 5/9 and one touchdown. Nate Ewell lead with 8-tackles while Rocky Schoenfelder (SO/Bettendorf, IA) finished with 7 tackles and a sack.
Up next the Vikings will play in the NAIA FCS Playoffs they will await their fate and find out who they play next week.
