City of Ankeny recently issued the following announcement.
On Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022 at approximately 11:05 a.m., Ankeny Police officers were called to IHOP, 2402 SE Delaware Ave., in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived and spoke to witnesses, but those involved had left the area. Witnesses reported hearing two shots and gave the description of a suspect and his vehicle. Witnesses indicated there was a subject near this vehicle and possibly speaking with the occupant during this incident, but this subject has not been identified or come forward at this time.
A short time later, Ankeny officers located this vehicle in the parking lot of a local hotel. This vehicle was occupied by Ishrafeel Wilson (27). Wilson was brought to the Ankeny PD and interviewed. At this time Wilson was arrested and taken to the Polk Co. Jail.
There were no injuries reported, this was an isolated incident and there is not an ongoing threat to the public.

Felon in Possession of a Firearm – IA code 724.26 (1) – D Felony
Reckless use of a Firearm causing property damage – IA code 724.30 (3) – Aggravated Misdemeanor
