April: Des Moines experienced a 2% increase in median home prices

The median sale price of a home sold in April in Des Moines rose by $3,250 while total sales increased by 1.2 percent, according to BlockShopper.com.

In April, there were 414 homes sold, with a median sale price of $168,250 - a 2 percent increase over the $165,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 409 homes sold in Des Moines in April 2021.

The median sales tax in Des Moines for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,488, approximately 1.5 percent of the median home sale price for April.
