Timber Ridge Elementary will welcome a new face for the 2022-23 school year. Ms. Raine Mollenbeck has been selected as the new principal of Timber Ridge in the Johnston Community School District. Mollenbeck most recently served as the associate principal at Johnston Middle School.
“We are excited to see Raine transition into this role at Timber Ridge,” said Laura Kacer. “She is an accomplished leader and will help to ensure that Timber Ridge is a great place for all students to learn and grow. Raine is passionate about building relationships with students, staff and families.”
Mollenbeck has served in various teaching and administrative roles since beginning her career in Montana in 2007. Mollenbeck spent the early part of her career working as an elementary educator in grades K-2 before becoming a middle school dean of students and behavioral interventionist. Since 2013, she has provided administrative leadership at both the elementary and middle school level in California and with JCSD.
Mollenbeck received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary & Early Childhood Education from the University of Northern Iowa, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Iowa.
“I am excited to continue my work in the Johnston Community School District alongside the amazing team at Timber Ridge,” said Mollenbeck. “JCSD has been a home for my family since returning to Iowa, seven years ago. I look forward to bringing a new perspective while building upon the great work Timber Ridge has already accomplished. I welcome the opportunity to serve as the principal of Timber Ridge and begin developing relationships with the staff, students and families.”
The JCSD School Board is expected to approve her contract at the June 27 board meeting.
