Prairie Meadows Board of Directors approved a $20,000 Community Betterment Grant and Lowe’s approved a $2,000 Hometowns Grant for the Bondurant Dog Park

33

As the Bondurant community is eagerly awaiting the construction of the Bondurant Dog Park, City leaders are successfully gaining more and more outside funding. As is reflected in the mission statement of the 2012 Bondurant Comprehensive Plan, Bondurant prides itself in being a friendly, tranquil place to live with rural qualities and hometown values.

Having vibrant gathering spaces, such as park amenities, available to residents and visitors helps reinforce Bondurant's hometown identity, as residents and visitors can get to know each other and meet up in a public setting. The Bondurant Dog Park will provide a gathering space that doesn't exist today, so the Bondurant community is eager to see this park project move forward.

Prairie Meadows’ Community Betterment Grant funds small-to-medium-sized projects that improve the lives of those in their communities. Prairie Meadows looks favorably upon projects that provide measurable and meaningful results. Bondurant is pleased to announce Prairie Meadows selected the Bondurant Dog Park for a Community Betterment Grant.

Also, the Bondurant Dog Park has been nominated as a project for the Lowe's Hometowns Grant Program. Lowe's wants to enhance the communities in which we all live by providing funding for projects that improve community spaces. Bondurant is pleased to announce Lowe's selected the Bondurant Dog Park for a $2,000 grant.

City leadership has acquired over $57,000 in outside funding for the Bondurant Dog Park. The next step will be to start designing this park.

The City of Bondurant will partner with the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District through its industrial shop class and art class during the 2022/2023 school year. Once all dog park components have been completed, the Bondurant Dog Park Committee will help organize a ribbon-cutting event by June 2023.
