Home prices decreased in Altoona during Q2

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2022 in Altoona fell by $20,000 while total sales decreased by 13.8 percent, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June, there were 119 homes sold, with a median sale price of $235,000 - a 7.8 percent decrease from the $255,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 138 homes sold in Altoona in the second quarter of 2021.

The median sales tax in Altoona for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $3,448, approximately 1.5 percent of the median home sale price for the second quarter of 2022.
