The Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union & The Iowa High School Athletic Association recognizes those teams and cheerleading squads which collectively have excelled in the classroom. Each student-athlete on the team will receive a certificate for their personal accomplishment, and the achievement will go on record at the respective associations.
There are two awards which may be earned:
- Excellence in Academic Achievement Award
- This award will be given to teams achieving a combined grade point average of 3.0-3.24.
- Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
- This award will be given to teams achieving a combined grade point average of 3.25 and above.

- Varsity Girls Golf – 3.7367 cumulative team GPA
- Varsity Boys Soccer – 3.4933 cumulative team GPA
- Varsity Girls Soccer – 3.7645 cumulative team GPA
- Varsity Boys Tennis – 3.7134 – 3.8301 cumulative team GPA
- Varsity Girls Tennis – 3.8301 cumulative team GPA
- Varsity Boys Track – 3.6907 cumulative team GPA
- Varsity Girls Track – 3.6649 cumulative team GPA
- Varsity Boys Baseball – 3.3852 – 3.8301 cumulative team GPA
- Varsity Girls Softball – 3.6881 cumulative team GPA
