The City of Ankeny will be converting several intersections to all-way STOP control this summer to improve safety for both for vehicle and pedestrian traffic. As our city grows, new homes in these areas bring more people and vehicles, which changes traffic patterns and our street network. Review of intersection control determined the need for these changes. In addition to the STOP signs, both stop lines and crosswalks will be painted at each intersection.
The following is the schedule for the intersections affected by this change, weather permitting:
- July 14: SW Prairie Trail Parkway & SW Cascade Falls Drive
- July 21: NW 36th Street & NW Abilene Road
- July 28: NW 9th Street & NW Greenwood Street
- Aug. 4: NW Abilene Road & NW Reinhart Drive
- Aug. 11: NW Ash Drive & NW Reinhart Drive
- Aug. 18: NW Abbie Drive & NW 8th Street
- Aug. 25: SW Ankeny Road & SW Snyder Blvd
