The Ankeny Fire Department will hold its annual Remembrance Ceremony to honor the memory of all the victims of Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Participants should gather at 8:15 a.m. and the ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. Due to the construction on W. The Remembrance Ceremony will follow the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) recommendations including the “Moment of Silence with Bells Ceremony.” The ceremony honors those who lost their lives from the fire service, law enforcement and civilians. We will remember those individuals who lost their lives in New York, Washington, DC and Shanksville, PA on this fateful day. The Ankeny Police Honor Guard will present colors.
