Help us celebrate National Fire Prevention Week! Bring your whole family to this free event! Join the Ankeny Fire Department at Fire Station No. 1 for a fun filled night. The Open House will include a variety of educational, family-oriented hands-on activities for all ages. Residents can learn more about the power of fire prevention and technologies available to protect their own families from fire. Activities will include: NEW fire safety house, a junior firefighter challenge course, a junior firefighter maze, spraying a fire hose, trying on a firefighter’s gear, using a fire extinguisher, identifying hazards in the fire department’s hazard house and a variety of other interactive fire safety displays.
