Johnston applauds more than two dozen in All-State Band and Choir

The Johnston Community School District applauds all of the students who tried out for All-State Choir or Band, and the more than two dozen accepted this year.

Students will perform at the 76th annual Iowa All-State Music Festival, 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at Hilton Coliseum in Ames.

All-State Band

Six Johnston students were accepted into the 2022 Iowa All-State Band. They are:

Anna Lu – Violin – 9th grader

Chloe Liang – Clarinet – 9th grader

Margi Skinner – Alto Sax – 2nd Alternate – 11th grader

Eric Qi – Clarinet – 12th grader

Peyton Brown – Clarinet – 11th grader

Anita Dinakar – Flute – 12th grader

All-State Choir

Nineteen students were accepted into All-State Choir:

Renee Johnson, Maggie Miner, Soren Green, Noah Hartman, Meredith Heggen, Allison Miner, Cameron Capalbo, Owen Ferguson, Valery Figueroa, Molly Rogers, Kaleb Osborne, Elijah Caliger, Emma Lemke, Paige Thacker, Jack James, Campbell Love, Aubrey Clark, Leah Stoye and Cadence Sires.

In addition, the following students were recalled: Hayley TeKippe, Caden Davis, Jackson Zimmerman, Reisa Kongshaug and Trey Loggins.
