The Ankeny Fire Department responded to a fire in an apartment building at approximately 10:31 a.m. on March 9, 2023. The incident occurred at 1514 NW 4th Street. Initial reports indicated a fire in one of the first-floor apartments and several people who may have been exposed to smoke.
Ankeny Fire arrived on scene in 4 minutes and located the fire. The crews quickly contained the fire to the room where it started. Ankeny EMS evaluated the possible smoke victims and none required treatment or transport. Ankeny Police and MidAmerican Energy were also on the scene to assist with the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
