DOWNERS GROVE, ILL. – The Foundation for the Restoration of America (FFROA) awarded a $2,000 scholarship to Benedictine College student Marlowe Gerhart following her completion of the Constitutional Study Program.

Gerhart is from Johnston, Iowa and is a freshman student at Benedictine College. After taking the free courses in the Constitutional Study Program provided through Hillsdale College, she reflected on what she learned from the program.

“In order for our nation to protect the freedoms of the Constitution, there needs to be a nationwide re-education of the Constitution and what the Founding Fathers intended,” she said.

Gerhart continued reflecting on the necessity of education in the preservation of the nation the Founders intended – and the role she will play in that task.

“I can still work to preserve our freedom for future generations. It’s going to take a lot of work to educate the whole population, but with the right tools, it is possible. The United States might be divided right now, but it doesn’t mean that we should forget what our Founding Fathers did for us and the vision they laid out,” she said.

The Foundation’s Executive Director Christine Altenberger shared that Gerhart and other students like her are the hope of the future.

“Marlowe is an intelligent young woman with a bright future ahead,” Altenberger said. “With young Americans like her equipped with knowledge, conviction, and passion for this country’s future – we can all feel encouraged about the fate of our nation.”
