Ava Smithson, alongside two other former Johnston High School standouts, played on Tuesday, Feb. 25 in NCAA Division I softball game for Northern Iowa Panthers

On Tuesday, Feb. 25, three former Johnston High School standouts, including Ava Smithson, Ella Smithson and Paige Peterson’s current college team, the Northern Iowa Panthers, won 8-5 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Wofford Terriers.

The game took place at Hope Field. This was their first matchup against the Terriers this season.

The Panthers’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 28 at 4 p.m. at Draper Diamond against Lipscomb Bisons.
