Ava Smithson, alongside two other former Johnston High School standouts, played on Friday, April 25 in NCAA Division I softball game for Northern Iowa Panthers

On Friday, April 25, three former Johnston High School standouts, including Ava Smithson, Ella Smithson and Paige Peterson’s current college team, the Northern Iowa Panthers, won 9-8 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Illinois State Redbirds.

The game took place at Marian Kneer Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Redbirds this season.

The Panthers’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at Marian Kneer Stadium against Illinois State Redbirds.
