Johnston High School was well-represented by Ava Smithson and two former teammates now on Northern Iowa Panthers during the NCAA Division I softball game on Friday, May 2

On Friday, May 2, three former Johnston High School standouts, including Ava Smithson, Ella Smithson and Paige Peterson’s current college team, the Northern Iowa Panthers, won 4-1 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Valparaiso Beacons.

The game took place at UNI-Dome. This was their first matchup against the Beacons this season.

The Panthers’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, May 3 at 2 p.m. at UNI-Dome against Valparaiso Beacons.
