City of Johnston issued the following announcement on Aug. 10.
NOW OFFERING ONLINE PAYMENT AND INFORMATION PORTAL
The City of Johnston makes it easier for businesses and residents to view their utility bills. Users can now view their utility payment amounts, see a history of transactions, and pay bills online using a credit/debit card or eCheck (transfer from a checking/savings account). Payments can be made with a smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer at your convenience, 24/7.
"We continually look for opportunities to improve our citizens’ experience with the City and our enhanced online payment portal will do just that," said Teresa Rotschafer, Finance Director. "This information portal is user friendly and one our residents and businesses already appreciate having. Previous payment options are still in place, but this is an added layer to make viewing and payment easier."
The City offers an online payment portal at this URL: www.municipalonlinepayments.com/johnstonia.
The following features are also available:
Secure User Account: Create a user account, look up information, store payment methods, and facilitate future transactions.
Quick Pay: One-time payments for those who do not want to create an account.
AutoPay / Scheduled Payments: Enroll in automatic payments or schedule future payments
Bill Reminders: Sign up to receive phone calls, texts, or e-mail reminders when a bill is due, late, or paid successfully. As a user, you select the alert options.
Pay-by-Phone (IVR) - IVR is a fully automated service where users can call a toll-free number and make utility payments.
Bill View: View, download and print bill electronically.
Access Multiple Accounts: Register for access to one or multiple utility accounts.
The payment portal is easy-to-use and can be accessed directly from the City’s homepage. When businesses or residents pay online, the City has to process fewer printed checks, saving time and money.
The City partnered with Tyler Technologies, one of the most secure, affordable online payment providers available. Tyler processes online payments for nearly 2,000 municipalities.
