Northeast Iowa Community College issued the following announcement on October 14.
The Fire Tract features special “Courage Under Fire Leadership” presentations and personal development for firefighters and fire department personnel.
The global pandemic presented unique challenges to emergency responders, particularly in the ability to attend face-to-face training. Northeast Iowa Community College is excited to return to the Grand River Center to offer in-person Fire and EMS sessions at the Tri-State Emergency Responders Conference, Oct. 15-16 in Dubuque.
The exhibit hall will feature fire and medic vehicles, institutions of higher education degree opportunities, collectibles, gear and services.
The EMS and Fire Tracts on Friday, Oct. 15, includes topics such as PTSI among fire fighters, trauma myths and legends, rescue care for crush injury and crush syndrome, and reducing firefighter carcinogen exposure.
Saturday EMS and Fire Tracts include presentations on designer drugs and managing patients, sepsis, responding to pediatric and geriatric patient emergencies. The Fire Tract also features special “Courage Under Fire Leadership” presentations and personal development for firefighters and fire department personnel.
